WATCH: Travis Tritt Shares The Stage With Daughter, Tyler Reese Tritt, For Soaring Duet - Country Now

Travis Tritt’s oldest daughter, Tyler Reese Tritt, has loved music and performing since she was a little girl, just like her dad. A recent Instagram video from the singer makes it clear that their mutual support for each other’s musical pursuits has continued all these years.

In the clip, the musical father-daughter duo shares a stage, with Tyler Reese stepping in for the late Lari White, who originally sang on the duet version of “Helping Me Get Over You.” This classic Travis Tritt tune was released in 1997 as the fourth single from his album, The Restless Kind.

A Father-Daughter Duet
Written by Tritt and White with David Campbell, the song hit the No. 18 spot on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart upon its release.

Tyler Reese adds her own touch, creating powerful harmonies with her father as they sing, “Helping me get over you / One kiss at a time/ ‘Cause all the pain that we’ve been through / Still weighs so heavy on my mind / Getting pass the love we lost / That’s a lonely bridge to cross / So I did what I had to do / I had to find somebody new / Who’s helping me get over you.”

She paired the heartfelt video with a caption that read, “My favorite duet partner since I was a little girl.”

How Long Has Tyler Reese Been Making Music?
As her post suggests, the father-daughter pair has been bonding over music for years. When Tyler Reese was just 14 years old, the “It’s A Great Day To Be Alive” singer gave her the chance to join him in the recording of the duet “Sometimes Love Just Ain’t Enough” by Don Henley and Patty Smyth. This proved to be a pivotal moment in the young singer’s career, as she has since paved her own successful path in the industry. The 25-year-old artist is the only daughter of Tritt and his wife, Theresa Nelson, and has two siblings.

Earlier this year, she released her new single, “Texas Hold Him.” Travis Tritt once again supported her, sharing a message on social media to thank his fans who had listened to his daughter’s work.

“My daughter’s new single ‘Texas Hold Him’ has been out for a week! Thank you for all the streams, follows, and playlist features,” he wrote at the time. “If you haven’t yet, make sure you add the song to your favorite playlist!!”

“Texas Hold Him” was written by Jaida Dreyer and Melissa Peirce and produced by Alex Kline. In the mid-tempo song, Tyler Reese showcases her powerful vocals while reflecting on a recent breakup and pleading for the strength to move forward without looking back.

“Texas, hold him and keep him under your sky/ ‘Cause I’m leaving and I’m needing all the help I can get tonight/ If he follows, won’t you slow him down?/ ‘Cause if I see his face I know I’ll turn around/ Don’t you let him go ’til I get to where I’m going/ Texas hold him, yeah,” she sings in the chorus.

This relatable tune came on the heels of Tyler Reese’s other recent release, “Porch Light,” which takes a more sultry, revengeful approach to a breakup.

Throughout her career, Tyler Reese Tritt has performed a variety of headlining shows and opening gigs for renowned artists like her father, Sheryl Crow, and Runaway June.

She is next scheduled to perform at the Stoney Creek Freedom Festival in Greenville, VA, on September 7, 2024.
