Priscilla Presley—the woman who once shared her life with the “King of Rock & Roll,” Elvis Presley—has released a new memoir in which she candidly reflects on life after leaving him. In a recent interview, Priscilla spoke with emotion about the time she spent with Elvis: “He was special in every way. I learned so much from him about life, about business, and about caring for others.” Even more than 45 years after his passing, Elvis’s influence and his devoted fan base remain nearly as strong as when he was alive—something Priscilla herself still finds astonishing.

The book not only recounts her years beside Elvis but also reveals the deep pain Priscilla endured later—especially the sudden death of her daughter, Lisa Marie Presley. For the first time, she shared in detail the heartbreaking hospital moment when she had to make the decision to remove her daughter from life support. “I had never experienced a loss like that. It’s something I wouldn’t wish on anyone,” she said.

Despite the tragedy, Priscilla also recalled the closeness she and Lisa shared in the days before her passing. The two had just gone to see the Elvis movie together, talking and laughing, only for Lisa to be gone the very next day. Priscilla also emphasized that her relationship with her granddaughter, actress Riley Keough, is now strong and filled with love. The two often spend time together and support one another in their personal lives.

Priscilla admitted that while she has never regretted her decision to leave Elvis, she will forever grieve the loss of that marriage. In her memoir, she recalls the hopes, the late-night phone calls, and even Elvis’s playful remark that one day, when they were old, they might find their way back to each other. “Elvis is still the love of my life,” she affirmed.
