Ella Langley and Miranda Lambert Team Up for Fiery New Anthem “Choosin’ Texas”

Country powerhouse Ella Langley is back with her highly anticipated new single, “Choosin’ Texas,” released via SAWGOD/Columbia Records — and this one brings major star power. The song was co-written and produced by Langley alongside country icon Miranda Lambert, who also lends her unmistakable vocals to the background harmonies. Rounding out the powerhouse songwriting team are Ben West, Luke Dick, and Joybeth Taylor.

“Choosin’ Texas” was born during a writing retreat nearly a year ago, where Langley and Lambert bonded over stories celebrating their Southern roots and wild-hearted spirit. “We wrote a bunch of songs together, but the second one really stuck with me,” Langley shared. “Miranda, being from Texas, started telling us one of her wild stories about drinkin’ and doing something ridiculous, and I said, ‘Well, she’s from Texas, I can tell.’ As soon as I said that, we all just looked at each other like — yep, that’s it! That’s the next song.”

For Lambert, the collaboration came naturally. “Ella may have grown up in Alabama, but she’s got a rowdy, fiery side that us Texas women recognize and respect,” Lambert said. “She’s an artist through and through, and I wanted her artistry to shine at every stage — from co-writing to co-producing. I’m so proud of how ‘Choosin’ Texas’ turned out, and I can’t wait to see the world continue to get to know Ella through this song.”

Langley first teased the track in February during a show in Nacogdoches, Texas, before performing it again to an electrified crowd in Houston this past weekend as part of her sold-out Still Hungover Tour. The tour continues through Helotes, Fort Worth, Athens, Chattanooga, and Starkville, before wrapping up with a two-night finale at Nashville’s legendary Ryman Auditorium on November 6 and 7.

Looking ahead to 2026, Langley shows no signs of slowing down. She’s set to join Eric Church on his Free The Machine Tour, followed by a long-awaited debut appearance at the Stagecoach Festival — a milestone that cements her as one of country’s most exciting rising stars.

With powerhouse vocals and a fearless approach to storytelling, Ella Langley continues to redefine the sound of modern country music. Her debut album, ‘Hungover’ (August 2024), earned widespread critical acclaim, featuring the 2x Platinum hit “you look like you love me” and her chart-topping single “weren’t for the wind.” Following a breakout year filled with CMA and ACM Award wins, “Choosin’ Texas” marks another bold step in her meteoric rise.

Blending grit, charm, and unapologetic Southern energy, Langley proves once again that she’s not just singing country music — she’s shaping its future.
