Duck Dynasty' star Phil Robertson remembered for 'extraordinary legacy' after his death: 'He will be missed' | Fox News

The world is mourning the loss of Phil Robertson, the revered patriarch of the Robertson family and the visionary behind Duck Commander. Known to millions through the hit A&E series Duck Dynasty, Phil’s life was a testament to his entrepreneurial spirit, his deep family bonds, and his unwavering Christian faith.

Duck Dynasty captivated audiences by offering a glimpse into the Robertsons’ lives, showcasing not only the operations of their successful duck call business but, more importantly, their profound love for one another and their steadfast commitment to their beliefs.

Towards the end of 2024, Phil stepped away from his “Unashamed” podcast, a move that was soon clarified by his sons, Al and Jase, in December. They revealed the challenging news that their father had been diagnosed with both Alzheimer’s disease and a blood disorder. The family openly shared updates on Phil’s health journey with their dedicated fanbase in the ensuing months. In a poignant moment during the May 19 episode of “Unashamed,” Al and Jase expressed a sense that their father was “getting ready for the journey to the other side.”

That journey, sadly, commenced on Sunday, May 25, as the Robertson family announced Phil’s peaceful passing earlier that day.

In a collective statement, the family shared their gratitude: “We extend our deepest thanks for the outpouring of love and prayers from countless individuals whose lives were touched by his grace-filled existence, his courageous faith, and his fervent desire to share the Good News of Jesus with all who would listen. We cherish the time he spent with us on earth and are committed to carrying forward his legacy of love for God and for others, until we are reunited with him.”

While many family members shared this touching official statement, several also penned deeply personal and heartfelt tributes to honor Phil’s memory.

Phil’s granddaughter, Sadie Robertson Huff, posted a series of heartwarming photographs of herself and her “Papaw” throughout the years. Her caption read: “His testimony transformed his life, our family’s life, and the lives of countless others. Now, he is experiencing it in its absolute fullness, fully alive in Christ. The new has come. One of the last things he told me was ‘full strength ahead!’ Amen!”

Christian Huff, Sadie’s husband, shared striking photos of himself and Phil on a duck hunt, reflecting: “I only had a few years to spend with @officialphilrobertson, but those few were truly memorable! There was, and never will be, anyone quite like you. We will miss you dearly, and I’ll keep striving to blow a duck call that would earn your approval! Enjoy your reception, as there are many waiting to greet you up there!”

Rebecca Loften, another of Phil’s granddaughters, shared a moving tribute on her Instagram Story. She recounted one of their final conversations, which, fittingly, centered around one of his favorite topics: food. Rebecca added: “Papaw Phil leaves behind a legacy of unwavering faith, quiet strength, and profound love—for his family, for people, and, above all, for his Savior. I will forever remember him through his devotion to Jesus and his beautiful love story with Mamaw Kay—a true reflection of Christ’s love itself.”
