Introduction:
Ella Langley: Country Newcomer Smashes Records and Co-Leads CMA Nominations
Ella Langley, 26, has quickly become one of the most exciting young stars in country music, proving her talent not only through hit songs but also by achieving major milestones at top awards shows. Although recently announcing a tour break due to health concerns, the singer remains at the peak of her career with six CMA nominations, tying her with industry heavyweights like Lainey Wilson and Megan Moroney.
CMA Lead and the Female Vocalist Face-Off
Ella Langley solidified her place among country music royalty by co-leading the nominations for the upcoming CMA Awards on November 19 in Nashville, Tennessee, with six nods, matching both Lainey Wilson and Megan Moroney.
Most notably, Langley is nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year, a fiercely competitive category. She faces established giants, including three-time reigning winner Lainey Wilson, seven-time recipient Miranda Lambert, alongside Kelsea Ballerini and Megan Moroney.
Langley’s other nominations include:
New Artist of the Year.
Song of the Year, Single of the Year, and Music Video of the Year for her duet “You Look Like You Love Me” featuring Riley Green.
Musical Event of the Year.
Fast Track to Stardom
Born Elizabeth Camille Langley on May 3, 1999, in Hope Hull, Alabama, the young star made the bold decision to drop out of Auburn University after two years to relocate to Nashville in 2019 and pursue a full-time music career. This move was fueled by a passion for songwriting, sparked by her late grandfather’s guitar.
Langley’s big break came via social media. In 2021, a clip she shared of her song “If You Have To” on TikTok quickly went viral, leading to her first publishing deal.
Her career milestones include:
2023: Debuting at the legendary Grand Ole Opry and signing a major record deal with Sony Music Nashville and Columbia Records.
2024: Releasing her debut album, “Hungover.”
December 2024: The track “You Look Like You Love Me” with Riley Green hit No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, snapping a 51-week streak of male artists holding the top spot. The song also won Musical Event of the Year at the 2024 CMA Awards.
2025: Winning five trophies at the 2025 ACM Awards, including New Female Artist of the Year, affirming her status as a celebrated talent.
Touring Break and Personal Life
Despite her career momentum, Langley recently prioritized her health. On August 11, she announced a break from touring to “rest and focus on my health—mind, body, and heart” after dealing with prolonged sickness. However, she was back on stage to perform at a NASCAR race on September 7 and is expected to rejoin Morgan Wallen’s I’m the Problem Tour leading up to the CMAs.
In her personal life, Langley is private. Although the on-stage chemistry with duet partner Riley Green sparked rumors of romance, both have denied the speculation, insisting they are just “good friends.”
Langley is a “dog mom” to her two pups, Crue and Bee, and is a founding board member of the nonprofit Pawsitive Rescue Division. She is known for her tough, independent personality, often self-described as a “tomboy,” and values remaining authentic to herself.
