Country Singer Rory Feek Marries Daughter’s Teacher in Intimate Montana Ceremony
Nashville, Tenn. – Eight years after the heartbreaking death of his wife Joey, Grammy-winning country artist Rory Feek has found love again.
On July 14, 2024, the 59-year-old singer married Rebecca, the former schoolteacher of his 10-year-old daughter, Indiana, in a private ceremony held beneath a timber-frame pavilion in Greycliff, Montana. Close friends and family traveled on short notice to witness the celebration.
Feek revealed the news in a heartfelt post on his personal blog, calling the piece “The Wedding Singer.” He explained that the idea of marriage blossomed thanks to Indiana, who had long known Rebecca as “Miss Rebecca,” her teacher and family friend.
According to Feek, a pivotal moment came in March when Indiana told Rebecca during a school commute, “Miss Rebecca, I think you should marry Papa. My mom’s been gone a long time, and maybe you could be my new mother.” The touching words brought Rory to tears and helped him embrace the next chapter of his life.
During the ceremony, Feek surprised his bride by performing a new song he wrote for her titled “I Do.” The performance was captured on video and shared on his YouTube channel.
Rory Feek first captured national attention alongside his late wife Joey Martin Feek as the beloved duo Joey + Rory. Their faith-filled music and genuine love story resonated deeply with fans. Joey died of cervical and colorectal cancer on March 4, 2016, at age 40. The couple’s album Hymns That Are Important to Us went on to win a Grammy for Best Roots Gospel Album.
Since Joey’s passing, Feek has raised Indiana while chronicling his journey of grief, faith, and fatherhood on his blog and through music. Now, with Rebecca by his side, Feek says his family feels whole again: “We became a family when Rebecca was given the gift of motherhood and Indy was given the gift of having a mama in her life again.”
