Tim McGraw Says Medical Procedure Is Forcing Him To Exit New Netflix Drama

Country superstar Tim McGraw recently revealed the true extent of his harrowing health ordeal, and it turns out the situation was far more severe than previously understood. What many perceived as a minor setback was, in fact, a prolonged period of intense pain, multiple complex surgeries, and an incredible display of resilience as he continued to perform despite his body “falling apart.”

McGraw opened up on the Bobby Bones Show, shedding light on a medical journey that began over a year ago. It wasn’t just a simple back surgery, as some might have assumed. “I had three back surgeries and double knee replacements,” McGraw disclosed, a revelation that shocked many. The public was aware of one back surgery earlier this year when he withdrew from a Netflix series, but the additional procedures and the complete knee replacements were kept under wraps.

The cascading series of events began before his recent tour. McGraw explained, “I had a back surgery before tour last year, and that sort of went south on me right at the beginning of the tour.” This initial complication led to a domino effect: “And so, sort of compensating for that, my knees went out like 3 weeks into the tour.”

Incredibly, despite his back “gone” and both knees “completely gone,” Tim McGraw refused to cancel his tour. He told Bobby Bones, “So, I had to finish the tour with my knees completely gone and my back gone.” This unwavering dedication meant performing night after night, likely in excruciating pain, to avoid disappointing his fans.

The medical nightmare continued even after the tour concluded. “As soon as I got off tour, I went in and had the surgeries done. I had my knee surgeries done and then in the process of recovering from knee surgeries, my back went out again. I had to have another surgery.” And somewhere amidst this challenging recovery, he underwent a third back surgery.

While the extent of his health issues was largely unknown until now, Tim McGraw shared some good news regarding his recovery: “I’m on the upswing now. You know, some mornings are good, some mornings it takes a little while, but it’s getting there.”

Fans will be thrilled to hear that McGraw is preparing his return to the stage. His first performance since this health battle is scheduled for May 31st at Nashville’s Rodeo, where he will share the stage with Reba McEntire and Jelly Roll at the Music City Rodeo. Following that, he has a show in Fort Collins, Colorado, and will headline the unique Speedway Classic at Bristol Motor Speedway on August 2nd, an event featuring a baseball game between the Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Reds on the racetrack’s infield.

Wishing Tim McGraw a continued speedy recovery as he makes his highly anticipated comeback!
