Introduction:

Tristan Tritt Drops New Song “Sick of It,” Offering a Raw Look at Heartbreak from a Male Perspective

American rock singer-songwriter Tristan Tritt has released his latest single, “Sick of It,” on May 16, 2024. The track will appear on his highly anticipated debut EP, What Are We Doing?, slated for release on July 18, 2024.

Co-written by Tristan James Tritt and Jerry Fuentes — who also produced the song — “Sick of It” showcases Tritt’s blend of gritty honesty and melodic rock edge. The song dives into the emotional chaos that follows a breakup, offering a rare and refreshing look at heartbreak from a young man’s perspective.

In a statement, Tritt shared the inspiration behind the track:

“I wanted to make a song that was about breaking up from the male perspective. Instagram kept showing me these funny videos of guys dancing at a bar with their friends, with captions like ‘she’s broke. I’m up,’ then immediately cut to the same guy drunk and crying about the girl he just lost.”

He admitted that the song’s concept hit close to home.

“Ironically, I wrote this song while I was in a relationship that ended soon after, but the inspiration was that this perspective isn’t something you hear about too often,” he explained.

Tritt also opened up about the song’s unfiltered lyrics and emotional honesty:

“The ‘colorful’ language paints a more realistic picture of what young men go through after having their heart broken. I’m certainly guilty of overindulging, and then making the mistake of texting (or worse… calling) my ex. The ‘hangxiety’ is very real! My advice is if you’re gonna go out with your friends and you’re prone to caving in, just give someone your damn phone… before it’s too late.”

With its relatable storytelling, catchy guitar riffs, and unapologetic tone, “Sick of It” sets the stage for Tritt’s debut EP — a project that promises to bring raw emotion and rock authenticity to the forefront.
