Country music fans were left in shock early Saturday morning (May 18) after reports surfaced that Travis Tritt’s tour bus was involved in a fatal accident shortly after leaving his performance at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
According to authorities, the crash occurred around 3:30 a.m. on Veteran’s Highway when another vehicle, reportedly driving the wrong way, sideswiped Tritt’s bus. The collision tragically claimed two lives and left another person injured. Thankfully, neither Tritt nor anyone on his team was hurt in the accident. Officials believe alcohol played a role in the tragic incident.
Tritt took to social media shortly after the crash to share his emotional reaction, writing:
“We were just involved in a fatal accident with a driver going the wrong way on Veteran’s Highway as we were leaving Myrtle Beach. Thank God we are all okay. I feel so bad for those who died needlessly tonight.
