Travis Tritt Mourns the Loss of His Longtime Friend and Tour Manager Scott Minkley

Country music star Travis Tritt is grieving the heartbreaking loss of one of the most important people in his personal and professional life — his manager, tour manager, production manager, and dear friend, Scott Minkley, who passed away on October 11 after a courageous battle with cancer.

In a deeply emotional tribute shared on social media, Tritt wrote:

“It is with tremendous sadness when I say that I lost one of the most incredible people that has ever worked for me today… Scott was my right-hand man for almost 20 years. His acumen, knowledge, and dedication to his job will forever be unsurpassed. He was one in a million, and I’ll never find another like him.”

Scott was more than a trusted professional — he was family to the Tritt camp. Travis described him as not only an outstanding employee but a cherished friend to his entire family and nearly everyone who ever worked with him. His passing marks a deep and lasting loss in both Tritt’s personal life and career.

Tritt also offered this touching farewell:

“May he rest in the arms of Jesus until I see him again in Heaven. My deepest condolences go out to his family and friends. In remembrance of Scott, please do something special and good for someone today.”

Despite the overwhelming grief, Tritt announced that no upcoming shows will be canceled in light of Scott’s passing — a decision made with Scott’s spirit in mind.

“Scott was a true professional who well understood that ‘the show must go on.’ He would never have wanted me to cancel shows because of his absence,” Tritt explained. “While it will be extremely difficult to look around and not see Scott there, the show must — and will — go on. All of my remaining shows in 2023 will be played in tribute to Scott Minkley and the tremendous man that he was.”
