Scotty McCreery 'still a huge fan' of American Idol - TV - Entertainment - Daily Express US

Fourteen years after being crowned the Season 10 winner of American Idol, country star Scotty McCreery remains a dedicated viewer of the show that launched his career. The 31-year-old, who captivated audiences and judges like Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, and Steven Tyler in 2011, recently shared that he and his wife, Gabby Dugal, still tune in regularly.

McCreery admits he often finds himself reminiscing about his early days on the competition. He recounted a recent moment where he stumbled upon old emails detailing his American Idol journey, from audition information to Hollywood itineraries. “It was all the audition information and going to Hollywood, and here’s what you need to do for this. It was all the itineraries,” he told US Weekly, adding, “Even last night, I was like, man, pretty crazy how time flies.”

Life for McCreery has certainly evolved since his Idol win. He and Gabby tied the knot and welcomed their son, Avery, in 2022. The couple recently announced they are expecting their second child. Becoming a father has been a profound experience for him, with McCreery stating, “Becoming a dad is the biggest thing that’s ever happened to me for sure.” He clearly adores his son, noting, “He’s already two and a half and running around and he’s talking a mile a minute. It’s just so fun watching him grow. Having two is going to be insane.”

Beyond his personal milestones, McCreery continues to make headlines with his music and charming personality. Earlier this year, he demonstrated his good-humored resilience when he took an unexpected tumble on stage while opening for Kane Brown. The “Five More Minutes” singer quickly bounced back, joking, “Who put that there?” to the delight of the audience. Fans praised his quick recovery and genuine reaction on social media, with one commenting, “Great recovery. So glad you are okay. I love how you keep it real.” Another fan who witnessed the moment firsthand wrote, “You played it so cool though and bounced right back. A true champ. That was an iconic moment. You played it off so well.”

From reliving his Idol memories to embracing fatherhood and even handling a stage slip with grace, Scotty McCreery continues to connect with fans as he navigates life and his successful career.
