Phil’s First Words After Jase’s Bloody Accident Were Not What You’d Expect | 1110

I’m Back in the Studio… Sort of

Welcome back, everyone. Yep, it’s true—I’m finally back in the studio. Kind of weird, honestly. Felt like I hadn’t sat in this chair in forever. Jay looked at me like I was a ghost walking through the door.

And yes, I know what y’all are thinking: “Where’d he go last episode?” Well… Let’s just say I was called away—urgently—by the natural laws of biology. That’s right. Nature made the call, and I had no choice but to answer. Mid-recording.

Jay had to close us out. And let me just say, folks online have now dubbed it the “greatest podcast close in history.” Like we planned it or something. Some even said I left on purpose to avoid stealing the spotlight—which is hilarious considering the number of times I’ve been accused of narcissism.

Truth is, I was gonna rush back in for the last two minutes, but the situation… escalated. And no, we don’t need to revisit the details. I can feel Jay gagging just thinking about it.

Ep 1110 | Phil's First Words A… – Unashamed with the Robertson Family – Apple Podcasts

Anyway, fast forward to today—we’re gearing up for the Faith, Family & Freedom event at Logtown. Missy’s been organizing it again this year, and let me tell you—it’s bigger than ever. Fireworks, gospel sharing, baptisms, and yes, patriotic pie (don’t ask). I’ll be preaching, and we’ll have our Unashamed Bible class live that weekend.

But here’s the kicker—Zach thought he was invited to speak at a preaching school event… turned out it was me. Yeah. Me. The guy who barely made it through a year of internship, speaking to students training for the pulpit. Meanwhile, Al—who actually did preach for 25 years—is just sitting back shaking his head. Imagine that meeting: “Let’s pick someone who’s got no agenda, no title, and maybe no clue.”

And yet, here we are. God has a funny way of using people who don’t fit the mold. And in John 8, Jesus is saying the same thing: “If you knew me, you’d know my Father.” He wasn’t there to build a brand or prove status. He was there to glorify the Father—nothing more, nothing less.

Which kind of puts everything in perspective, doesn’t it?
