After country singer Rory Feek remarried Rebecca, his daughter Indiana Feek’s life experienced many meaningful changes. One of the most significant changes is that Indiana now has a new mother figure—Rebecca—who not only brings emotional support to the family but also teaches Indiana at the one-room schoolhouse on their family farm.
Rebecca quickly became a positive role model and formed a strong bond with Indiana. Now 10 years old, Indiana attends the Hardison Mill School—a special one-room schoolhouse built on the family’s farm in Tennessee. The school was made possible by generous contributions from fans after Indiana’s biological mother, singer Joey Feek, passed away in 2016. Before that, Joey had homeschooled Indiana herself.
At Hardison Mill, Indiana studies foundational subjects like reading, writing, arithmetic, and also learns the simple values of rural life—what Rory calls “the four R’s.” The school maintains a small class size of about 12 preschool students and adopts a child-centered approach to learning that emphasizes outdoor exploration and hands-on activities. This environment helps Indiana grow both emotionally and academically while nurturing a love for nature and practical life skills.
Indiana’s story is a beautiful testament to the power of love, perseverance, and community. Despite facing challenges from a young age, she continues to thrive in an environment full of care and support, inspiring everyone around her. As Rory once said, “Love is bigger than time, bigger than fear. And love doesn’t have to end for it to begin again.”
