NASHVILLE, TN — Country music fans got a powerful surprise Thursday night (October 2) when Ella Langley joined Lainey Wilson on stage during the Whirlwind Tour.

“Y’all welcome to the stage, my girl, Ella Langley!” Wilson announced to a roaring crowd, introducing Langley as she stepped in for Miranda Lambert on the duet “Good Horses.” The song originally appeared on Wilson’s Whirlwind album and its deluxe edition.

Wilson has often praised Langley, describing her as “kind of like my little sister.” Speaking with iHeartCountry, Wilson said, “She’s got this spunk to her that I love — there ain’t no stoppin’ this chick. She’s one of the most talented people I know, and I’m proud of her.”

Earlier this year, Wilson also shared how proud she is to see Langley and fellow rising star Megan Moroney thriving: “My advice to them is just to keep your head down and work hard, but also celebrate how far you’ve come.”

Lambert, meanwhile, has called Langley “my friend, my soul sister in country music, and a partner in crime.” The two performed together at the 2025 Academy of Country Music Awards, the same night Lambert debuted “Trailblazer” alongside Wilson and Reba McEntire.

Lambert recently praised Wilson in TIME100Next, calling her “a light” and “a legend already.” She added, “What she does doesn’t define her. Who she is defines her — that’s real authenticity.”

With three of country’s most powerful women — Wilson, Lambert, and Langley — sharing the stage and supporting one another, it’s clear the genre’s future is in strong, fearless hands.
