Introduction:
Miranda Lambert and Ella Langley Forge a Sisterhood of Country Music
When Miranda Lambert and rising star Ella Langley teamed up for a duet of Kerosene at the ACM Awards in May—celebrating the 20th anniversary of Lambert’s breakout album—fans witnessed more than just a milestone performance. It was the spark of a friendship that continues to grow beyond the spotlight.
“I love her,” Miranda said afterward. “We’ve been writing together, and I’m helping with part of her next era in music. I just think she’s our next legend, and I’m excited to see when the world figures that out.”
That admiration is mutual, and Miranda can already see Ella’s star rising. “I think it’s happening now, which is amazing,” she added with a smile.
The ACM stage also showcased another moment of camaraderie: Miranda’s debut of her new song “Trailblazer,” performed alongside Reba McEntire and Lainey Wilson. It underscored the power of women supporting women in country music, a theme that resonates deeply with Lambert.
“I feel like I’m the big sister to Ella,” she explained. “Then we’ve got Lainey as the middle sister and Reba as the older sister—it just feels like a good sisterhood to be in.”
That sisterhood will take center stage again in November, when Miranda, Lainey, and Ella all compete for the coveted Female Vocalist of the Year trophy at the CMA Awards. Win or lose, the bond they share is already a victory—a testament to mentorship, collaboration, and the unstoppable spirit of country’s leading women.
