Introduction
Fresh off his win on The Voice USA, Sophronio Vasquez is teaming up with his mentor, Michael Bublé, for his debut EP. This exciting collaboration was announced by Vasquez himself during a media event, where he also revealed some of the project’s details.
Bublé is taking on the role of producer for the still-untitled EP, and their creative partnership has already yielded several songs. Vasquez shared that the first track to drop will be a Christmas duet featuring both of them. Fans can also look forward to an English-Tagalog song, a nod to Vasquez’s Filipino heritage. The project will also include collaborations with music legends David Foster and Paul Anka, making this EP a star-studded affair. So far, five songs have been recorded, with more details to come via social media.
This EP with Bublé isn’t the only thing on Vasquez’s plate. He’s also working on a separate EP with ABS-CBN Music, with recording sessions taking place in New York.
Beyond the studio, Vasquez hopes to share the stage with Bublé in the Philippines one day. Reflecting on his time on The Voice, he shared a piece of advice from Bublé that has stayed with him: “Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.” This lesson, he says, is key to an artist’s longevity in the music industry.
You can catch Sophronio Vasquez performing live alongside Jed Madela and Batuen Escalante at the Bravo Manila concert on August 23rd at the theater at Solaire.
