Gwen Stefani Opens Up About Life, Love, and a Giant Iris Garden with Blake Shelton

On their sprawling $4 million Oklahoma ranch, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton recently launched an ambitious new project: planting a massive purple iris garden. In an Instagram Story, the No Doubt frontwoman admitted the undertaking left her feeling “overwhelmed,” joking that Blake had bought “one or two types of a thousand” varieties instead of keeping it simple. After hours of unboxing bulbs and hauling soil, neither had put a single flower in the ground.

Life Beyond the Spotlight

For Stefani, 55, the garden is just one symbol of a bigger life shift. The pop icon, known for her bold style and genre-bending career, has embraced rural life with her country-star husband. Since meeting on The Voice in 2014 and marrying in 2021, they’ve blended their families and settled full-time in Oklahoma. Gwen’s three sons—Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo—split their time between city adventures and the rhythms of ranch life.

Yet she admits the move from Los Angeles wasn’t easy. “I adore the calm and watching the kids run wild and free,” she said, “but I wonder if we’re giving them enough of the city’s energy and creativity.”

Balancing Careers and Family

The couple’s careers still demand attention. Stefani is finishing a genre-mixing album, Harvest Heart, which pairs electronic beats with country banjo riffs. Co-producing with Shelton has been joyful but challenging: “He’s so chill, and I’m this ball of energy,” Gwen explained, acknowledging the pressure of blending their sounds for an upcoming 2026 tour.

Family life brings its own balancing act. With Kingston now in college, Gwen feels the bittersweet shift of motherhood. “I always doubt whether giving him space was the right thing to do,” she admitted. And like many blended families, she and Shelton navigate different parenting styles, sometimes bickering but always finding compromise.

Finding Harmony

Despite the doubts, Gwen says therapy, open conversations, and small rituals—like technology-free date nights—keep their relationship grounded. The couple recently adopted a rescue dog they named Harmony, a fitting metaphor for their life together: “Chaotic, loving, imperfect.”

Stefani embraces this stage as one of growth. “We are happy, and our happiness is both profound and chaotic,” she reflected. Whether tending to a thousand irises or co-producing a cross-genre record, Gwen Stefani shows that even music icons face the same questions of love, family, and change—one garden bed at a time.
