Country Singer Rory Feek Pens Heartbreaking 'Answer to Prayer' as Wife Battles Cancer - ABC News

Rory Feek, the country music singer and songwriter, recently shared a deeply moving tribute to his daughter, Indiana, and the unwavering strength she gives him following the loss of his wife and musical partner, Joey Feek.

In an emotional post, Rory reflected on tender moments captured in a video of his late wife, Joey, and their daughter, Indiana, who was born with Down syndrome in 2014. “God doesn’t make mistakes,” Rory wrote, emphasizing that being “different is not less.” He celebrated Indiana’s life, dreams, and feelings as being no less meaningful or important than anyone else’s, a sentiment he believes will hold true as she grows into an adult.

Joey Feek passed away from cervical cancer in March 2016. On a recent Mother’s Day, Rory revealed that watching Indiana grow up has given him a renewed sense of strength, helping him navigate the heartbreak of his profound loss.

Rory Feek has a long and successful career in country music, having penned hit songs for artists like Blake Shelton and Clay Walker. With Joey, he formed the popular duo Joey + Rory, which rose to fame on the CMT show Can You Duet?. In addition to his music career, Rory is also a dedicated father to his two older daughters, Heidi and Hopie, from a previous marriage. He has since remarried, finding love again with his wife, Rebecca.

Rory continues to find new ways to honor Joey’s memory and find purpose in his life, often sharing updates on his farm, his work, and most importantly, his journey of fatherhood with Indiana.
