Introduction:
HARDY Admits He Was “Butthurt” After Thinking He’d Be Featured on Ella Langley’s Hit “Never Met Anyone Like You”
HARDY has penned countless country hits alongside some of the biggest names in the industry — but his recent collaboration with Ella Langley left him feeling unexpectedly “butthurt.”
In a recent interview on Audacy’s Katie & Company, the “Truck Bed” singer revealed that while co-writing “Never Met Anyone Like You,” he assumed he’d also be featured on the final release.
“I felt like the guy that thought he was getting hit on by a girl — and the whole time, he wasn’t,” HARDY joked. “When we left the room that day, I thought the plan was for me to be the feature.”
The Mississippi native went on to explain that he even recorded vocals and screams for the track, believing his parts would appear in the finished version. “Then the artwork comes out, and it’s just ‘Never Met Anyone Like You’ – Ella Langley,” he recalled.
After realizing his name was missing, HARDY reached out to his manager for clarification. “I was like, ‘What?’ I was so butthurt,” he admitted. “Then I scrolled back through my texts with Ella and realized — we never actually confirmed I’d be featured. None of our messages said that at all.”
Ultimately, HARDY laughed off the misunderstanding, calling it a “lesson learned” — even if it momentarily bruised his ego.
