Introduction:
Ella Langley Announces New Single “Choosin’ Texas,” Co-Written with Miranda Lambert
Rising country star Ella Langley has announced her next single, “Choosin’ Texas,” set for release on Friday, October 17th. The song, co-written with country icon Miranda Lambert, has already become a fan favorite at Langley’s live shows throughout the summer.
The collaboration was born during a writer’s retreat last fall, where the two artists bonded over stories of love, identity, and home. Langley revealed that the idea for the song came from one of Lambert’s anecdotes about an ex who still drove with Texas plates. That story sparked the song’s hook: “He’s choosin’ Texas, I can tell.”
Introducing the track at a recent show in Durant, Oklahoma, Langley shared, “You know Miranda’s from Texas. She said she did something crazy—or silly, who knows what Miranda did—and she’s like, ‘Of course, I have Texas plates on the back of my vehicle.’ I told her, ‘Well, I’m sure he was like, ‘She’s from Texas, I can tell.’”
Langley first performed “Choosin’ Texas” live at Live At The Station in College Station, Texas, and later at the Choctaw Music Fest in Durant on October 10th, where she confirmed it as the lead single from her upcoming album.
This release marks another milestone in a breakout year for Langley, who earned five Academy of Country Music Awards and six CMA nominations in 2025. Despite canceling several summer tour dates due to health issues, the Alabama native is now back in full force—ready to share her next chapter with fans.
