Ella Langley apologizes for on-stage name blunder: 'I made an oopsie' - syracuse.com

Country artist Ella Langley is making light of an on-stage blunder after accidentally shouting out the wrong name during her recent performance.

Langley, who is currently opening for Riley Green on his Damn Country Music Tour, was giving a shout-out to the other openers before her set. While Wyatt McCubbin and Vincent Mason had performed earlier in the night, Langley mistakenly yelled out Hudson Westbrook’s name instead of Mason’s.

Westbrook, a fellow rising country star, is not on the tour and is currently busy with his own shows and tour dates with Ian Munsick and Parker McCollum.

Langley took to social media to issue a lighthearted apology, admitting she had “no idea why” she got the names mixed up. She recalled the crowd’s “confused” cheers after her shout-out and issued a public apology to Mason. “Sorry Vincent,” she said with a laugh, before adding, “Hudson, shoutout to you, and then Vincent, sorry.”

Both artists took the mix-up in good spirits. Mason jokingly commented on her post, “Literally who is Vincent Mason,” while Westbrook added, “I’ll take the shoutout any day.”

Langley also shared a clip of her apologizing to Mason in person backstage. “I don’t even know what to say!” she said as Mason responded, “It’s okay,” and gave her a hug. She ended the video by admitting she’s not used to having other artists perform before her, saying, “I’m used to being the first one.”
