Travis Tritt Shares Update on Knee Injury After Canceling Tour Dates

Country music star Travis Tritt has issued an update to fans regarding the knee injury that recently forced him to cancel the remaining shows of his “Can’t Miss Tour” with Chris Janson.

The “T-R-O-U-B-L-E” singer took to social media on Saturday, November 12, to confirm what he had suspected: “Update: An MRI this week revealed that I do have a torn meniscus in my left knee as I’d suspected,” Tritt wrote on Twitter. “I plan to return to the road to play my remaining 2022 shows from December 1 thru December 10. My knee surgery will take place in mid-December.”

Tritt reassured fans that he expects to make a full recovery well before his tour dates in July 2023. His latest message followed an earlier announcement on November 1, when he informed fans that he had no choice but to cancel his November concerts due to severe pain.

“I have been experiencing severe pain in my left knee for the past few weeks due to a possible torn meniscus,” Tritt explained at the time. “With short breaks between shows, I had hoped that the pain would eventually subside so I could complete all of my remaining November dates, including those on the ‘Can’t Miss Tour’ with Chris Janson and War Hippies.”

However, the discomfort soon became unbearable. “Unfortunately, the pain has become impossible to ignore and I will not be able to do any further shows in November,” he said. “Refunds for these shows will be available at the point of purchase. I appreciate everyone’s understanding and I hope to return to the road as soon as possible.”

The cancellations included stops in:

  • Greensboro, NC (Nov. 3)

  • Florence, SC (Nov. 4)

  • Richmond, VA (Nov. 5)

  • Tupelo, MS (Nov. 11)

  • Choctaw, MS (Nov. 12)

  • Pensacola, FL (Nov. 18)

  • Atlanta, GA (Nov. 19)

This news followed an earlier cancellation of the Estero, Florida show, which was impacted by the aftermath of Hurricane Ian. Additionally, Tritt and Janson called off their November 10 concert in Anderson, South Carolina, citing “reasons beyond our control.”

While Chris Janson has yet to make a public statement, several venues confirmed the cancellations to fans through social media.

The pair had originally announced the “Can’t Miss Tour” earlier this year, following the release of their duet “Things You Can’t Live Without,” featured on Janson’s April album All In. At the time, Tritt expressed his excitement: “I’m really looking forward to the ‘Can’t Miss Tour’ with Chris this Fall. Our high-energy performances complement each other so well. Audiences are going to be thoroughly entertained.”

Janson echoed the sentiment, saying, “Excited to be out touring with one of my favorites. It’s gonna be a rowdy fall, and I’m looking forward to it!” He also praised working with Tritt in the studio, sharing that their collaboration exceeded expectations.

According to Tritt’s official website, his next scheduled performance is set for Thursday, December 1, in Abilene, Texas, at the Wylie PAC.
