Fire Breaks Out at Travis Tritt’s Georgia Home — Country Star Thanks God No One Was Hurt
Country music legend Travis Tritt is counting his blessings after a fire broke out at his Georgia home on Wednesday afternoon. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident, though part of his property suffered damage.
The 52-year-old singer took to Twitter to share the news, posting a photo that showed a charred trampoline and burned playground equipment inside a fenced backyard. Two fire trucks could be seen parked nearby. “Fire destroyed the kids’ playground at my house today,” Tritt wrote. “Thanking God that nobody was hurt and no other major damage.”
Tritt, known for country classics like “Foolish Pride,” “Best of Intentions,” and “It’s a Great Day to Be Alive,” lives in Georgia with his wife Theresa Tritt, 43, and their three children: daughter Tyler, 17, and sons Tristan, 16, and Tarian, 11. The family often appears in Tritt’s social media posts, where the singer gives fans a glimpse into his offstage life as a husband and father.
At this time, the cause of the blaze remains under investigation, and authorities have not released any official statements regarding what might have sparked the fire.
Despite the damage, Tritt’s sense of humor was still intact. Comedian Larry the Cable Guy responded to the singer’s tweet, joking, “Glad you’re safe. Crazy! I bet that’s the last time Theresa puts you in charge of grilling out!”
Tritt laughed off the comment and replied, “Yep! Next time I’ll have a spatula in one hand and a fire extinguisher in the other!”
While the fire was a frightening moment for the country star’s family, fans were quick to flood social media with messages of support and relief that everyone was safe.
For now, Travis Tritt is grateful that what could have been a tragedy ended only in property damage — a reminder, as he often sings, that it’s indeed “a great day to be alive.”
