Introduction:
Jessica Shines as AGT Season 20 Winner—Nine Months Pregnant and Full of Gratitude
In one of the most emotional finales in America’s Got Talent history, Jessica stunned audiences by being crowned the winner of Season 20—while nine months pregnant. Overwhelmed with joy, the singer took to social media after her victory to thank fans, judges, and fellow contestants for what she described as “the craziest and most beautiful night of my life.”
“I was a complete mess on stage emotionally, just crying,” Jessica admitted. “But I’m so grateful. I honestly can’t believe this happened.”
Throughout the season, Jessica carried more than the weight of competition. Performing while heavily pregnant, she faced physical and emotional challenges—from sleepless nights and sciatica pain to the intense pressure of live television. Yet she persevered, powered by her faith, her family, and the love of fans who voted her to the top.
She credited judge Sofía Vergara for giving her the golden buzzer that propelled her forward, and expressed a lifelong dream fulfilled in singing for Simon Cowell. “Simon told me, ‘If you ever need anything, I’m here for you,’ and that just meant so much,” she shared.
Jessica also reflected on the encouragement she received from her husband, who was visibly emotional during the finale. “This man knows the struggle I’ve been through with music,” she said tearfully. “Seeing him cry made me cry even harder.”
Despite doubts about returning to music after past disappointments, Jessica said her faith carried her through. “I’ve struggled with feeling like a failure. But I surrendered it to God and He showed me I was meant to do this. Winning AGT pregnant—it’s proof of that.”
She made sure to shine the spotlight on her fellow contestants and the AGT staff. From magicians and choirs to powerhouse singers, Jessica emphasized that the talent this season was “unbelievable” and that every competitor “deserved to be there.” She also praised the behind-the-scenes crew and her band for helping bring her performances to life.
Now, Jessica’s focus shifts back home to Texas, where she will prepare for the arrival of her baby girl in just two weeks. But she promises that her musical journey isn’t ending—hinting at new releases, including her heartfelt single Two Lines, which reflects her journey into motherhood.
“I can’t thank you enough,” Jessica told fans. “You believed in me and made this possible. From the bottom of my heart—I love you.”
