Introduction:
Global Citizen Festival 2025: Star-Powered Lineup and Big Goals for a Better World
The 2025 Global Citizen Festival will light up New York City’s Central Park Great Lawn on September 27, blending high-profile music performances with urgent calls for global action.
Star-Studded Hosts and Performers
Global Citizen announced the lineup on September 4, revealing that Adam Lambert will co-host alongside Bill Nye, Lee Saegoshi, Danai Gurira, and Hugh Jackman.
Headliners: Shakira and The Weeknd
Special Guest: Colombian hitmaker Camilo (billed in some early releases as “Camo”)
Rising Acts: Mariah the Scientist, Ayra Starr, and Tyler
Lambert, a longtime Global Citizen supporter who performed with Queen at the 2019 festival, said he’s thrilled to help inspire action:
“It gives me great pleasure to return … offering my voice as a co-host to highlight creative solutions to today’s most critical problems.”
Camilo’s Latin pop flair promises an “electrifying performance,” bringing additional global reach and cultural richness to the night.
Mission with Measurable Impact
Now in its 13th year, the festival isn’t just about music. Organizers aim to rally commitments to:
Protect 30 million hectares of the Amazon rainforest (target: $200 million in funding)
Provide clean energy to 1 million people in Africa
Support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund to help 30,000 children attend school
Fans can earn free tickets by taking actions through the Global Citizen app—signing petitions, contacting lawmakers, or volunteering.
Since 2012 the festival has generated $37 billion in pledges aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals. With Adam Lambert’s charisma, Camilo’s cross-cultural appeal, and a roster of globally recognized advocates, 2025’s edition promises an evening where music and mission unite to fight poverty, protect the planet, and expand education.
