Ella Langley Sets the Record Straight on Riley Green Dating Rumors
NASHVILLE — Country star Ella Langley is clearing the air. At the People’s Choice Country Awards on Thursday, the “You Look Like You Love Me” singer directly addressed the persistent rumors about her relationship with duet partner Riley Green, confirming they are nothing more than good friends.
The viral success of their hit song, “You Look Like You Love Me,” has been fueled by the undeniable chemistry between the two artists. On the red carpet, Langley acknowledged that the song has “changed both her and Green’s lives” and that she understands why fans have been so curious about their off-stage relationship.
“We’re not dating,” Langley stated firmly. “We’re just good friends.”
Langley explained that she and Green have known each other for years, dating back to their early days playing the same local bars in Alabama. “It’s cool to see Alabama people winning!” she said.
A Viral Hit That Broke the Rules
Langley told Taste of Country that the success of “You Look Like You Love Me” was unexpected, as it defied traditional country radio standards. “This song broke a lot of rules, going to country radio where there is no singing in the verses,” she explained. “A lot of people have a mindset on what a radio song is… I don’t think is what people think is a radio song — it’s doing incredible things.”
The song, featured on Langley’s debut album Hungover, is currently inside the Top 20 on both the Country Airplay and Hot Country Songs charts.
The duo is already set to collaborate again on a new track, “Don’t Mind If I Do.” Fans can look forward to hearing the song live, as Langley was recently announced as the opening act for Green’s upcoming Damn Country Music Tour, which kicks off in March 2025.
