Riley Green Reveals He 'Accidentally' Recorded 'Don't Mind If I Do' With Ella Langley - Wide Open Country

Riley Green and Ella Langley are proving to be an unstoppable country music duo. Following the success of their chart-topping duet, “You Look Like You Love Me,” the pair is back with another hit, the title track from Green’s latest album, “Don’t Mind If I Do.”

The song’s origin story is a happy accident. Green wrote the tune as a duet while Langley was his opening act on the 2024 Ain’t My Last Rodeo Tour. He initially brought Langley in to help him find the right key, intending to pitch the song to another female artist. However, Langley’s impromptu performance during a recording session convinced Green that she was the perfect voice for the track. “She just crushed it,” he told his record label, adding that her performance made it impossible to imagine anyone else singing it.

The song’s lyrics also coincidentally serve as a beautiful continuation of their previous hit. Green explains that the story in “Don’t Mind If I Do” feels like a natural follow-up to “You Look Like You Love Me,” making the collaboration even more special.

Despite the on-stage chemistry and lyrical connection, both artists have repeatedly denied any romantic relationship. Green is a good sport about the persistent rumors, recognizing that fans often hope for a real-life love story like those of famous country couples like Tim McGraw and Faith Hill or George Jones and Tammy Wynette.

“I think fans want to believe that what you sing about is real,” he said, “I’m just glad that we’re having success together. I’m so proud of her.”
