Rory Feek Visits Joey Feek's Grave with Daughter Indiana, 11, on Ninth Anniversary of Singer's Death: We 'Remember Her'

Country singer Rory Feigh has finally addressed the public after his two eldest daughters, Heidi and Hopie, threatened legal action against him, claiming their youngest sister, Indiana, who has Down syndrome, is unsafe under his care. This comes just two months after Feigh remarried Rebecca, eight years after the passing of his first wife, Joey.

Daughters’ Concerns and Social Media Posts

Heidi and Hopie took to social media to voice their concerns, stating, “We no longer believe Indiana is safe under our father’s care. He left Indiana with members of an organization known for its troubling history of child abuse.” They were referring to Homestead Heritage, a farming-based Christian community that Feigh is involved with, which has faced past allegations of physical and sexual abuse. The sisters also shared personal experiences of neglect during their own childhood.

Rory Feigh’s Response

In a recent blog post, Feigh offered his side of the story, explaining his initial silence by emphasizing his love for his daughters. He wrote that despite “hurtful stuff online for months… for two years now,” he had not responded because he loves his kids. He believes that continued public conflict will only further damage their family, with love being their only hope for reconciliation.

Feigh indicated that a significant source of the family’s conflict stems from differing belief systems. A devout Christian, Feigh previously publicly supported his lesbian daughter Hopie, stating his role was to love her unconditionally. However, six years later, a clash in values appears to have emerged.

Addressing the daughters’ claims that they are prevented from seeing Indiana, Feigh stated in his post that they are welcome to visit her anytime. He clarified that the conflict began about a year ago when he refused to let Indiana stay overnight at her sister’s home in Alabama due to concerns about her exposure to “movies, music, and culture” he did not approve of. He added that he expects his daughters to respect his parenting choices, just as he will respect theirs if they have children.

Feigh also expressed disappointment over accusations that he joined a “cult,” defending Homestead Heritage as a Christian organization. He attributed his daughters’ concerns to “online research where they found remarks from some frustrated ex-members and strangers.”

It’s disheartening to witness a family struggle publicly like this. We hope Rory Feigh and his daughters can resolve their differences privately. What are your thoughts on this challenging family situation?
