Introduction
Country rising star Ella Langley found herself in a fit of apologies after a recent head-scratching gaffe during a stop on Riley Green’s “Damn Country Music Tour.” As direct support, Langley was the third of four acts to perform, following openers Wyatt McCubbin and Vincent Mason. When she took the stage, she aimed to give a shout-out to the artists who performed before her, but that’s where things got a little tangled.
In an amusing post-show video shared on social media, Langley confessed, “I made an oopsie, and the problem is, the oopsie was so strange, because I have no idea why.” She recounted the moment she mistakenly called out Hudson Westbrook’s name instead of Vincent Mason’s. The crowd, she noted, cheered with a hint of confusion. Westbrook, a fellow rising star, is indeed busy touring this year with artists like Ian Munsick and Parker McCollum, but he’s not on the road with Langley and Green.
“Anyway, so, public apology and — sorry. Sorry Vincent!” Langley exclaimed, dissolving into laughter. “Hudson, shoutout to you, and then Vincent, sorry.”
A Good Sport’s Response
Fortunately, both Vincent Mason and Hudson Westbrook took the mix-up in stride. Mason playfully commented on Langley’s apology post, “Literally who is Vincent Mason,” showing his good humor. The video also captured a sweet moment backstage where Langley personally apologized to Mason. “I don’t even know what to say!” she can be heard saying, to which Mason, ever gracious, responded, “It’s okay,” pulling her into a hug.
Langley, seemingly still bewildered by her own blunder, offered a final explanation in her video: “I’m not used to having openers perform for me at all. I’m used to being the first one. Sorry.” It seems even seasoned performers can have those “oopsie” moments that turn into memorable, laughter-filled anecdotes.
