Rory Feek Says He Drove to Visit Daughters amid Dispute, But They Wouldn't Talk Without Mediator - YouTube

Singer-songwriter Rory Feek recently shared an update on his ongoing disagreement with his adult daughters, Heidi and Hopie Feek. In a blog post, Feek recounted driving to their home in Alabama, hoping to mend their strained relationship. He brought peace lily flowers as a gesture of goodwill, wishing for an opportunity to talk and listen to their concerns.

However, upon arriving, Feek stated that no one answered the door, despite seeing cars in the driveway. He left the flowers and returned home. Subsequently, he received a text message from Heidi stating that they were only willing to communicate with him in the presence of a licensed therapist or attorney.

Feek expressed his differing view, believing that it is their responsibility as a family to resolve their issues privately. He wrote, “They believe that it’s the job of someone with a doctorate, law or masters degree to repair what is broken in our family. And I believe that it’s our job. Our responsibility to put our differences aside, sit down together as adults and do everything in our power to fix what is broken and mend what needs repaired.”In response to her father’s account, Heidi told People that the unannounced visit felt “intimidating.” She explained that she was not home at the time, but her husband and sister Hopie were present, and Hopie experienced a panic attack upon seeing Feek’s truck. Heidi emphasized their need for clear boundaries and a third party to facilitate communication, stating, “We’ve set really clear boundaries. We have such a hard time communicating with him and feeling heard that we really don’t feel like it’s possible without a third party.”

She further clarified that if Feek genuinely wished to connect, he would have respected their request for a mediated conversation or at least informed them of his visit beforehand
